part of owning a DSM is trouble shooting and fixing problems, it's what makes owning a DSM interesting. if you want some new car with no personality then go buy a new civic.

Haha, that definately works. I remember when I had my mirage... insurance is so cheap for them. Good luck with the 42r.

My car was ragged on by its original owner.I bought it off of him on this website. Had the same mods on it (fmic, bov, full exchaust, blah blah blah), that was untill it went under the knife recently.Needless to say I got on it from time to time and never had problem. except for a factory clutch that needed to be replaced but thats just like having to swap out brake pads.

and as far as insurance goes...i pay 140 a month for full coverage, 500 deductable, road side assistance and rental car insurance for everyday my car is at the shop. To me that's pretty cheap. It really depends on whos insuring your car. I'm 21 and i have USAA auto insurance
You are right Fernando, I agree. Your insurance is pretty low but there's a lot of people paying more for their DSM. When the 90 Laser RS (4g63t) was insured before I sold it... it was only $45.00 a month. Insurance... we pay $150 for the SRT-4 and that's full coverage with modification coverage, road side and everything else. That's through Progressive and I'm 22.

But it does not really depend on who's insuring your car, it all falls down to the kind of car, where you live and your driving history. Trust me I know, my wife is an Insurance Agent for Mercury Ins. and she's licensed by the State of Florida.

BS its the kind of car, i pay $75 a month for full cover with $200 diductable, and thats full cover. on a 98 gs. and thats with allstate. but i have a clean record, no crashes, and only 1 ticket years ago. i'm only 23 and have had nothing but sports cars, this eclipse full cover is cheeper then my turbo 86 300zx with just P I P , and liablity.

and wtf dealer offerd you $1500 for you cars? i would have told them to lick my sack. i have yet to have a dealer offer me less then 4k for mine. the mitsu dealer offered me more in trade in then what i got it for. the cars hold value very well, about the same as any honda. at least here in orlando they do, actually many time the gs/rs sells for the same if not more than a gst at the same dealer, because its not modded.

Yes you're right but that was oversight from my timing belt changers. I wont do timing on my car so I always have someone else do it and no one ever changed my balance shaft belt. That and the fact that I over revved it are the only reasons it broke down. I was back up the very same day so I wouldn't call that breaking down

No, it doesn't only fall under what kind of car there's plenty of other reasons... where you live based on your zipcode, age, driving history, and so fourth. Are you licensed as an Insurance Agent for the state of Florida? Do you work at a well known insurance company? I don't think either. As far as you paying $75 a month for that car in Orlando you must be under your parents coverage. I doubt Orlando has cheaper insurance rates then St. Petersburg especially Allstate. You call BS on what I said and think its only about what kind of car? Tell me how I move from one zipcode in St. Petersburg to another in St. Petersburg and our insurance rate goes up $10 a month. My record has been clean for years and no accidents and so fourth. I'll let my wife on here later thats an Insurance Agent for Mercury Ins. and she tell you how it is and what everyday drivers don't know.

The Eclipse's DO NOT hold value that well. I've owned 6 so I know. You can't base it upon what you see them going for at the dealer, there's a reason why they are still there. You couldn't sell a Non-Turbo 2g for 4k when you can find some turbo 2g's (95-96) for 4k. This being private sellers. You should know how dealerships work, they buy the cars for less and markup the price. We've gotten offers from people for 3k but when we had it for $3,500 for a 99 we had to bring it down. Let's see a Toyota dealership said $1,500 so did a Dodge dealership. You can't compare Eclipse value vs Honda value... Honda's have held there value's for years a lot better then the Eclipse. Comparing the two is like comparing a watermelon to a banana.

I'm not here to argue with you but this is all based on experience.
