just wondering if the transmission is made of aluminum since i got a nice big crack on the end where the 5th gear cover is. i think i pushed the output shaft through too hard. and i need to weld it, all i have is a mig welder. and just when i had everything done....pretty gay, huh?




edit.... does anyone have the 5th gear cover? i might just take this off and silicone the crap out of it if i cant find anything

 

nvmd, i found out its aluminum. anyone have a spare cover or junk transmission i can take one off of? its for a gsx tranny. and will a 1g work?

How bad is it Dane?? Just put some rtv sealant on the inside and outside of it its not a bad crack..

 

^^^ lol JB Weld for the win. If anything, JB weld it. Also if you know a welder, have it welded, thats what Jerry will do if he doesn't replace the casing.

I have a guy that can weld it, Amazing at welding aluminum if you can't find a cover, let me know.

 

That what I meant, JB weld... Dont know why i said RTV.. But jb weld will do the job. Save yourself time and money jb the damn thing.

 

you can try damon he's got a case and a welder thats right next to his shop... he's in trapon springs

 

i was just gonna try ultra grey, ill have to go to the stupid autoparts store agian now. and i gotta steal my brothers car or soemthing to do it lol.
