Default Radiator Fan Issues

After replacing my headgasket the radiator fan refuses to turn on. which sensor ultimately tells the fan to turn on? the one on the thermostat housing or the one on the radiator?? I'm also going to be testing the relay to rule that out.

Will this lead to premature fan failure? Everytime I run mine constant Im afraid Im gonna burn it up. Do these kinds of fans have clutches, or is that just belt driven?

No, S e r i o u s l y. I have heard of running slim line fans all the time, but not the actual cooling fan. I dont know what you are pondering about my question, I know belt driven fans have clutches that burn out over time, I didnt think our cooling fans had clutches, but I remember seeing a relay somewhere that said A/C clutch, or fan clutch, but that could be for the a/c compressor. I dont know thats why I asked. Sorry, Im gonna go punch myself in the nuts now over this.

Hey man I showed you which wires to splice, its a blue and red wire in the fan wiring were the plug goes. Splice that, run to fuse box ign source. Fan will always be on when ign is on. I ran my gst like that for about 2 yrs with out any premature fan failure and the car stayed cooler than normal, especially under hood temps.

man all this ghetto riggin advice.why not just fix it right, instead of possibly causing more problems. Start with the thermocoupler sensor in the radiator its not that expensive even for a dsm owner, then go from there if it doesnt fix it.

and you wonder why dsm have a bad wrap on reliability or why your always working on your car instead of driving it.
