4G63 Wiring Harness Question

Default 4G63 Wiring Harness Question

I might be possibly trading for a 99 GST. The only downside is the GST needs a wiring harness to run. The motor in the car is a 6 bolt from 1990. What harness will work with the car? Any 1G? Or specifically the harness from 1990?

you could make any 1g harness work, but if it's a 90 ECU some modifications need to be made, or you could just look for a 90 harness.

Don't even bother with that 90 crap. In the long run their a PITA because of all the parts that are 90 exclusive. Get a 91 harness, throttle body, coil pack and a CAS and switch the ecu for a 91-94


EDIT: if its a 2g then get a 2g harness? and sell off the 90 shit.

yeah owning a 90 kinda sucks, I have so many spliced connectors I cant even remember what is original anymore.

To OP, be readyto have a tricky time getting that car running right being a 6 bolt in a 2G without a harness or being setup yet. Im sure people will flame me saying its easy, but shit, as many times as Ive looked into doing it I always said fuck it, too much to dick around with.

OMG, are you guys serious?

Man put a damn 2g harness in the car like what belongs in there. If you can't find one I know who has one.

Then you need to locate a 93-94 cam angle sensor.... After you have that you can go down to Brotherz racing and buy the adapter harness that will convert your 2g crank angle sensor plugs over to cam angle sensor.

The 2g harness will plug up to everything on the 1g engine.

Anyone telling you to put any other harness in that car don't listen to them, you will be in for a rude awakening and one hell of a nightmare.

everything? You sure about that? I had to change out my TB, CAS, Coilpack, and my thermastat housing to swap the 6bolt i had in my 2g to a 90. 90 is the worst year. Tons of stuff are completely different from the other years. Considering all the parts on that motor are from a 90, or if harness was spliced in to make the 2g parts work on the 90

I'm very sure about that, unless he has that wack TB with the S shaped TPS, when that can easily be swapped out. All that is little shit, man do you know that a 1g wiring harness will have to be hard wired into his body harness and dash harness... Thats retarded and redundant for anyone to do.

The OP can feel free to pm me for my number I will be very happy to help walk him through it. I know 2g's like the back of my hand and anyone that really knows that side of me can vouch.
