need input please
ok so since i've got my new ecu in i've been starting to find out all which sensor's are actually bad/ going bad on my car. but this one kind of has me confused.
i'm basically trying to figure out if it's my cam sensor or my tps.
here are my symptoms:
*lopes at idle
*will hesitate during acceleration (until like 4grand and then i feel full power)
*sometimes the idle will drop down to basically nothing and then go right back up to right under 1grand
and every site i've went on and everything i've looked up says either the cam or tps, but they both (atleast according to what sites i've been on) have the same symptoms. now it does do really only after i've been driving for awhile, maybe like 30 min. this has been bugging me for a couple days now and there is no CEL and nothing can be read of a scanner. and i do know the cam is only 40 bucks from advance but i can't find one for a 95 eclipse. they just have ones that have the clip for the 97-99's. i'm lost and don't really know what to do. any input would be usefull. like i said every site i've been on basically gives the same symptoms for both things that i think is wrong.
everything thats happening to my car some say may also be a vacum leak, but i've had massive vacum leaks before and never had symptoms like this and since the car was torn apart for about a year and the car being a 95 i knew i'd have to start replacing sensors, but i have to prioritizes which ones to get until their all replaced. is there anyway to test them? or should i attempt probing the sensors?

If its acting abnormally, most of the time you will get a DTC/CEL. I wouldn't just start replacing things...that can get expensive.
It sounds like a vacuum leak to me. With a bad cam sensor the car wont run. Or will just shut off at random. Easy way to test for leaks is to get some starter fluid and spray it at all the areas that it might be leaking while the car is running. If there is a leak it will suck the starter fluid in and you will hear the engine accelerate a little bit.
You could try calibrating the TPS I guess...there is a test for resistance across pins 1+2 iirc...you probably wanna search tuners for that though. And I believe pin 3+4 will have continuity when its at "closed" or 0%. Easiest way to set it IMO is to loosen the screws on the TPS and and rotate it till you get continuity btwn 3+4 while the pedal is at rest. Then stick something real thin like maybe a credit card or whatever (small feeler gauges are best if you have em) between the pedal and the stop, to hold it as if you were just barely touching the pedal. At this point you want adjust the TPS until pins 3+4 are open. Then when you pull the card/feeler out it should show a closed circuit again.
Could also be a dying o2 sensor. Or a big exhaust leak. Who knows.

well i fell i can eliminate the exhaust leak, IMO, and i've been starting to think it may be the map sensor, but not to sure because of my oil leak i haven't been running the car. i wouldn't say it's not an o2 sensor but i ran my last eclipse without one connected at all and i barely noticed it even run differant( it was the downstream on tho if it'd make a diff).
but if it changes things, it started acting really bad today. since it hasn't really moved i took the car down the road so my girl could take pictures of it (something to make me happy since it's acting up lol) and it seriously barely made it home. it stalled on me 4 times, twice while at a cruising speed, once stopped at a redlight and when i parked it and was just about to turn it off. the idle would jump up to about 35 and slowly go down to around 900rpm's. horribly lope at idle, if i kept my speed constant it would do find just very slowy the rpm's would fall, but if i even somewhat let off the gas the car would jerk and bounce all over the place. don't know if this helps
my friend said he may have an extra map sensor so i'm gonna see if putting it on my car will work. i'm in the process of swapping all them out anyways cause i'm trying to get rid of everything thats old or used in the car lol (wish me luck) but they seem to be dying before i can do so lol
