Default What do you think the safest A/F ratio is

As the title says, what do you feel would be the safest 6 bolt and for discussion sake lets say a stock motor. I am currently tuning my Evo 8 Ecu in my 1G. I just wanted to start a discussion to see what the census is for the average 6 bolt. Im sure there is a point that is safe but over time it will take its toll on the motor. Im sure there is also the ratio that will be better over time and not create as much damage over time and make less power. I am going to settle in somewhere in the middle.

It really depends on what the car likes. But on pump gas, on a 14b Id say shoot for 11.5:1 and see how it goes. On my car, anything much richer than 10.7 or so makes it pull like garbage. Once I start to get close to 11.7 I see knock.

14.7-15.7:1 on cruise, 12 while spooling and a little richer in boost is what I do.

What are you using to monitor/help dial it in, wideband, maft, Flashylight maker. Like guy said each car is diffrent as long as your not running super lean on boost but eh.

watching evo forums for seven years. the range for pump gas is 10.8 to 12.0. lately most end up on the leaner side at 11.8-12.0. for me 10.8- 11.0 works best for dsms.
