you have put many motors together but you wherent sure why the bolts would not torque? also you take a head off with 140k on it and don't recondition the head correctly the facts speak for them self. I wouldent be confused at all about this one. Its old has issues and needs fixed correctly.

Ok so just an update I took off my exhaust manifold and found out number 1 and number 4 ports on the exhaust are leaking oil. So I'm thinking either my head gasket didn't seat all the way or my Valve Stem Seals are leaking. So once i get my new convertible top on my car just came in im going to order a brand new head and send them mine as a core.

shaft play, Leak down test, compression test, torques. Save money for fixing the problem once you find it(know what it is before you jump to fixing something). Small to big thats how the process goes. Plus one, homeboy called ya out sorry dude I agree. GL with the issue.

why in the world would you jump to conclusions.? you have not idea what the oil rings look like do you? or if you do i guess you look the pistons out and checked them all and just put the old rings back in huh. what is obvious here is that you did this job already.. took the head off did 1/3 of the stuff that needed to be done to it and installed it back on the car. now your just going to buy a new one. what happened to the valves are fine because i checked them. If the valves where fine you would only know that if you took every one out lapped them back into the head. checked the lapses and also while you where doing so then of course there would be new valve seals installed. I'm sorry my friend this was done half ass so you got a half ass job. i would suggest you take the engine apart and do the job 100% correctly but i know this isn't going to happen here. So i guess you should take the head back off do the other 2/3 work that needed to be done to it. Bolt it back on your car. Don't stretch the bolts again by other tightening them. Maybe it will not smoke anymore. And well if it does, all i can say is you should of done it 100% the first time. Man I've built over 200 plus 4G engines i know short cuts and where they can get you.

lol im not reading all these but if some said this then ignore me

first off, you redid the head and now your reving it to 5k?????? ever hear of break in time? need atleast 500 miles.... staying under 3k of easy driving.

sounds to me either one of 3 things:
1: valve stem seals are shot or they where wrecked from not being broken in
2: you fried the piston rings
3: head gasket wasnt trq right

Blue smoke is blow by of gas/oil mixed
Black is rich
grey is oil
white is coolant/carbon

I'll shorten it up... valves and seals old. Head bolts over torqued stretched bolts (he stated they just kept turning lol), rings all original. only work done which was milled head. 1/3 of the work that the head need to make sure the head was done right= over his head
