welcome to TR.

I do agree that you shouldn't have just bought another head tho. Have you considered that it could be the rings? if it's only doing it at 5k then it could be something else. Valve seals will normally do it at an idle aswell. Definitly keep us posted tho.

Yeah its doing it at startup and doesnt stop now it slows down when it warms up but it still smokes.. heres why i think its the head when we were installing it i swear we had it on all the way seated against the gasket and when we were torquing the head down it popped in place i think when that happened it caused it to either break the headgasket or crack the head and like i said in the number 1 and number 4 ports on exhaust had oil in them so i dont feel like wasting time rebuilting the head again its cheaper to buy the head itll have new valves new retainers lifters everything but rocker arms and camshaft but i take that off mine so thats no biggie

not talking shit (if you where talking to me) my uncle restores classic cars but he dont know shit about an import lol

just stating what i think from what iv built already, lol as i said if what i said was already said just ignore it.

just trying to help, mistakes are made, but if you buy a new head you still have to send it out. i order tons of new/used/remand heads and they always need some kind of machine work.

What i would do:
ebay rebuild kit for 100 buks(or go performance for $600, include rods and pistons), rebuild the bottom end and send the head out, replace seals/valves/springs/lifters, start with a new motor with 0 miles, 1000 miles of easy driving, change oil, 1500 more then change oil, then beat the piss out of it. there for you can be proud that you built the motor and now know it has no miles at all, completely solves all problems or problems to be, i did this with my 4g63 and havnt had a single problem in 3 years

my $0.02

man you say "talking shit" simple you are on here for advise. Then when someone gives it to you.. then its no i did everything right. Well you can't know anything about the valves or guides unless you removed them. plus who does a job 1/3 the way that knows what they are doing... If you removed them then you would know the condition of them and also the valves seals. if you didn't then you don't have a clue... I was given a simple explanation about how you "install a head correctly" and what to make sure its ready for install. if you cant take the clues given or advise,,,I don't know why you are on here then? You over torqued head bolts and where saying idk why they wouldn't torque up... I didn't talk about your dad or his credentials but i would say this if they are all that then why are you on here because its clear you don't need anyone's help if you cant learn from good sound advise.... im just saying.. not judging.

That is exactly why im buying the new head so i know the brand new valves are good they check it before they leave the shop for any valve seal leaks or anything else cracks in head so if it still smokes after that ill rebuilt my bottom end plain and simple

This is what's wrong with society..people post up a problem and someone offers help..then someone gets offended or take offense . Everyone needs to to take it easy. If your going to post something expect someone will post a response..were all on here to learn or helpout each other. Remember its not what you say but how you say it.
