Default need help!

so i just bought some 17in rims for my 98 eclipse....and it looks like they will rub in the back, theres a bar that goes from the top to the bottom and i think the tire will hit that.....do i need spacers?...tire size im aiming to get for them is 225/40/17

Biggest tire you can fit in the back on a 17x7 +40 offset is a 245/40/17 . +38 would be a better choice for a 245. You need to find the actual specs on the wheels first. But I think you will be fine with that tire unless its something stupid like +50 offset. The only thing is you might need to hammer the fender lip flat.

Always verify wheel specs and fitment prior to buying. If you are lucky you will not have to try and resell these.

On the back of the wheel or the spokes. Although sometimes its on a sticker. You can always measure it.

Those guys are not jerks, they just get fed up with people not googling things before they ask them... good luck.
