Agreed. It does not seem to make sense, but you use a flare/line wrench on the hardline fitting and loosen the flexible hose (ensuring it is already disconnected upstream prior).

 

yeah as Will said under next 2 the passenger tire take it loose there. they did those pumps werid some of them spin and some don't. ive seen a lot that spin and a lot that are mended to the feeder line.. i hate the ones that don't but its just a lil more work that's all.

 

My 2gb fitting spun from the top of the fuel pump. Used 2 flare wrenches and it popped loose.
