Default 18g?20g? I'm lost!!

Could someone please explain (briefly) the pros/cons of the following setups...Without being an ass....

18g comp in e316 comp housing/tdo5h 7cm
20g comp in e316 comp housing/tdo5h 7cm
18g comp in e316 comp housing/tdo6h 8cm?
20g comp in e316 comp housing/tdo6h 8cm?

I'm planning on upgrading again from the 14b. I dd my car so I really want more low/mid range power.

Everything I find has so much bs injected into the threads that I never get a clear picture.

Thanks!!!

everything ive ever heard is that a big 16g is the best upgrade for a good dd driver plus good lows and mids and good kick at the top,.,,,, bigger turbo = lower lows and ok mids and big highs. id stay away from a 18 or 20g unless u want big power not a lot of power down low and shitty gas mileage to match...

big 16g ftw. u can get 350 out of one... what more do u want out of a dd.

a big 16 should be able to break 350, by a little anyways

I told you to stick with a 16g man. it's all you need. By time you need a bigger turbo you probably wont be daily driving the car anyways so you can go bigger. Honestly tho, if your dead set on not going back to a 16g, go with a 20g in the td05 housing. Big 16's are ranked to 380hp I believe, the td05 20 is ranked somewhere between 400/415 hp (this is assuming my memory serve correct on both). By then FWD will be lame and even if you do you awd swap you'll go bigger turbo, which wont matter because at that point the car wont be a dd.

in short, just stick with a damn 16g man haha
