Thanks!

after finishing the A/C stuff this morning I noticed that the plastic extension for the fan shroud was missing. I couldnt find it so I just made one and it fits perfectly with no movement what so ever. Took like 10 minutes, and it should help the fan shroud do its job properly.

My original guestimate of the length needed was way off so I cut some more and riveted them together then trimed as needed, and used a punch to make the hole for the tab.

With out the extension:

New stuff:

This one is alot easier to remove since there are no clips, it just slips right into place.

that looks pretty bad ass.... if you got the time, and the materials, you could prob fab up a whole shroud with that sheet metal and rivets....

There is no point really it would weigh more than the plastic one and be a pain in the ass to remove. The plastic one flexes just enough to squeeze in and out of place. I just needed that extra 3" extension, because with out it the clutch fan dosnt work nearly as well as it should.

22ga sheet metal/aluminum, sheetmetal sheers and pop rivits is all you need. You can get all of that stuff at lowes or home depot.

looks good. nice ingenuity on the lower shroud insert, granted with a koyo and n/a, you didn't need it lol. my ka-t only needed the actual clutch fan in the middle of summer with the a/c on. damn koyos do work, even behind a big 4" intercooler.

i like the wheel diffusers. spray em black would be nice and stealthy.

Thanks! I dont want to take any chances on having the car overheat when I go up north to the mountains so thats why I made it. Plus it only took 20 minutes. I'm also running distilled water and redline water wetter for the next few weeks to keep the car as cool as possible, I cant leave it in there too long or the block will rust and clog everything up.

I might paint the diffueser things, but its galvanized steel, which paint dosnt like to stick to. Eventually I'll get around to trying it. I need to make the ones for the rear wheels soon too.
