Working on my broken car before Desoto.. like always a drift event can never be rush free...
Had to basically source all these parts that I couldn't find at the shop or didnt have.
Started needing to source items.
SR p/s pump - Given to me by Rob Fleming
SR koyo - Swapped friend for FLUIDYNE KA Radiator
T25 + harness + ECU - Mike Ithajoka parts loan
Some misc Intercooler pipes - Cagedeyecam parts loan
caturdayspec Intercooler (OsamaTim's old fmic) - Butters -purchased
Misc oil/coolant feed lines/banjos -Sameo/Fidel Cashflo - given
Maxima wheels - Miles Flick - Trade for s14 front
would've taken no time at all if I had all the parts, but I could literally find no one with these parts locally so went through my call-lists and made it happen..
Painted cage/got festive with the interior lol
My buddy Sanders (CPTSanders) volunteered to trailer the car, which was amazingly convenient; his truck is the ultimate travel truck. That morning we were going to get tires mounted but then realized the Maxima wheels were 18s...and I had 17in Pilot SPorts....
Called around to see about any loaners I could use because of my fuck up.. luckily. I have awesome fucking friends.
My buddy Ben (1UZFE cressida) let me borrow his Enkeis with (literally sticker new) Federal 595s. with the words, "KILL IT." let me borrow them. with rainy conditions and t25 this would be no problem
We watched hangover and some comedian and completely forgot we were on the way to a drift event. movie theater setup and shit (thanks again man) lol
hey look, trailer queen
as soon as I got to the track and off the trailer it was like every other drift event...problems Discovered the turbo oil feed line was leaking from the CHRA and had to wire the e- fans.. before tech. fffuu.. had so many issues with the car it was stupid.
By the end of the 1st run, I had sprung 2 problems that would've ended my day..
The ISIS manifold I borrowed from Mike sat the T25 outlet literally cm away from the coupler and when I popped the hood was literally on fire. Me and Andy blew the flame out like birthday candles and with innovative thinking poor boy Brian made the heat insulated MONSTER CAN coupler.LOL worked flawlessly, before realizing the 2nd issue.
My ALT belt disappeared....superfuck
then I realized why.
KA Alternator, w/ KA pulley.
It was running a 3 ribbed belt and just pieced out.
after geting a belt loaner from Pedro (friend/spectator who was luckily there) pulled that off, reinstalled it and was back in the game.
then ppl stuck some cameras to the door. full lock angle vids
Did some super-dragger sweeper... lol
By end of the night I was linking the course with the little power I had.. I really couldnt link the course the way I wanted to because of the power struggle. and dry/wet sections
but definitely managed with what I had..
Rocket Boosters were working.. lol

had to take the bumper off after hitting a good bump at full lock, cut zip-ties and kept going.

After competition time put the bumper on for some free runs, car wasnt up to power for the lines I wanted to take so cut in, it was all in tandem with Brett and Miles (1UZFE S13 and S14 SR hatchback S13.4)
bump,SNAP, monster jam, crunch, run over.. kept going. Tandem was awesome.. but sadly.
Not really tore up over it. New one already in the works.

No drifting took place on that day for me. Making a normal turn from Sheldon onto waters and the rack told me to fuck off. What I did learn is to never use someone else's tag, because chances are the cop will actually run the tag against my vin next time.
