If you take your time and do stuff right and dont half ass, this car will be beautiful once again. Have you worked out any of the oil leaks?

Seeing that there was a shitload of oil around the valve cover, my dad helped me diagnose the valve cover gasket as part of the oil problem. So I bought a new one and took the cover apart.

Oily.

You can see where the oil was seeping through the gasket.

Broke ass shit. It was hard as hell and cracked.

I decided I might as well. I cleaned the shit out of the cover, removed that old ass gasket sealant.

This is more what the color looks like.

So, after I replaced that gasket, my CEL turned off, which was brilliant. But two days later, it was back on. -_- Unfortunately, the gasket wasn't the only source of the oil leak, but the rate of the leak has definitely decreased a significant amount. Anyway, I went to get my light checked at AutoZone. Apparently, my idle air control valve is damaged. That explains why I have to revv my shit every time I start it up in order to achieve SOME kind of idle RPM. So that's next on my list, along with further trying to diagnose this oil leak.

Im glad to hear its moving along. Once you get all the oil leaks figured out, you can concentrate on getting new headlights and other front end pieces, then youve got a nice Kouki back on the road.

Been following this since it was first posted - great start! Oil leaks can really be a PITA, but once worked out, that engine will look good as new! Glad to see that you're making progress! I'm not much an S14 fan normally but the Koukis look great!
