Picked up 2 coupes Monday. I'm going to freshen up one and sell the other.

Started taking off the fenders like a normal person would. Might substitute horse power for dog power. Good thing I'll be swapping out the brakes. One time in it's life, something abnormal went wrong here. They should put in every language possible and in Braille in the owners manual that a fucking pinch weld is not a spot to jack up the car. I spent about 30 minutes straightening out the pinches on both sides. Found a gouge in the drivers rocker panel that someone failed to fix. I'll weld it up when that time comes. How does someone fuck this up?!?!? Just more shit to fix. I'll wind up buying a new lid because the braces/cross member underneath is all mangled. There's a pillow between the lid and cross member/braces. Found this underneath the dash. Don't tell me that I have to explain! Everything AC related was all knurled up. God knows how long this car was sitting for. My door skins, seat belt plastics, (front and rear seat belts) carpet and the A pillar plastics were all chewed up. Had some help today w/ the rocker panel plastics. Took him several times to comprehend the difference between a phillips and a flat head screw driver, but he finally got the hang of it. Look down by my feet, you will see that I'm pulling up the sound deadening. Floor pans are pretty solid on the passenger side. Found slight surface rust starting to form on the rear right mounting point for the seat. Nothing major.,

It's going to take a little while to get the black coupe to where I want it. Have to help the misses get a vehicle which means that I am limited to where I spend "my monies".

Didn't do too much today. Had Jr up at the shop w/ me and I'm more focussed on him not hurting himself than the business at hand. I did manage to to pull up all of the sound deadening on the trani tunnel and the passenger floor boards. Shit was so old and brittle that I didn't have to use dry ice. I'll more than likely use dry ice on the trunk and rear seat area to keep from spending excessive time on it. From people jacking the car up on the pinch welds under the car, the rocker panels inside the car buckled. This is after I straightened is back out. I need to run some seem sealer now after I get the old shit out Child labor in affect. Started pulling the interior chassis harness out. Nothing spectacular to look at, it's just a bunch of wires. I might wind up pulling out everything that isn't absolutely necessary. The mice/rats chewed up a couple of wires so it really wouldn't hurt to go through the wires anyways.

All of the sound deadening is eliminated on the floor pans. Debated on sand blasting the pans and trani tunnel to get up what was left behind. I wound up using a hand buffer w/ a wire wheel. Took a little while but the results where better than I expected. Frame rail incident caused the pan to buckle. Rim tried running through the fire wall. Floor pans now ready for seem sealer, primer and paint. That rust spot that I was talking about. Nothing major thank lord baby Jesus. Have to finish the drivers' foot pan today. Ordered new sound deadening. Should be here in about 2 weeks...hopefully. I'm hoping to pull the engine here soon. Need to get my engine stand back from a fellow TR member but I have no way to get to Brandon. Anyone coming to Largo any time soon that wouldn't mind grabbing it for me? I might wind up doing another ka-t.

Damn you're getting a pretty good amount done. What kind of deadener are you buying? I pulled up mine and left it like that and instantly regretted it.

Auto sound deadener dampener deadening 70mil 25sqft | eBay

It's like the more I work on the car, the more I hate the F'n thing. When I bought the car(s), this one, the trunk wasn't able to be opened. I thought that the latch was fucked or something. There for, I couldn't inspect the trunk area. I just noticed today that my rear strut towers were beaten upon. I'm guessing that some jackass built his sub box too damn big and said, "fuck it, I'll make it fit". It's stupid, little shit w/ this car that is irking me.

Thank you sir. It's difficult trying to find a decent 240 for a fair price.
