Eh, the shifter sits about 3" forward on the stock location... going to have to do some finagaling to get it right, no biggie
Those Ford shifters sit so far forward, the damn thing is almost buried in the dash

^Depends also on what trans you get, like the T5 sits waaaaay forward. T56 isn't so so bad.

initial thoughts on the engine sitting in the engine bay.

It looks like a really tall engine.

Any way to sit it down lower without too much headache?
Think there is enough weight, high enough to effect handling?

Also looks like a lot of weight further forward in the engine bay.
I doubt it would be much of an issue, but a nose heavy drift car would take some getting used to.

other initial concerns would be steering clearance, and how little space there is near the brake booster/master cylinder.

I'm assuming when you tub the wheel wells, you were gonna get too crazy with it.
also assuming no plans on silly stuff like A/C huh?

Not really all that bad, dimensionally, it's similar to a VH45 in almost every way.

I'm making my own mounts, so final location will be where I should it should be.

Overall, the engine is only 60lbs more than a KA, and the trans an additional 15lbs... the way it's looking, is the motor will have to sit more rearward to let the shift hole line up, or close too...

Shouldn't be any worse than a RB swapped car, if not more like a KA-T in actual wet weight.

On the MKVIII Lincolns, you have to remove the steering shaft to get it out... there's a good sized opened made on the OEM headers for the shaft to go through. As soon as I get my bro's hoist over here, I'll be doing some test fitting to see what kind of clearance issues I'm going to have. Might have to do something drastic, who knows, I'll cross that road when I get there...

1998 Teksid...

1996 Teksid...

Appears to have more clearance with the 1998 header... both headers on the passanger side are cast iron, block huggers, only the driver side extends...

Who knows, might be a perfect fit.

Master will be slightly relocated, with the booster eliminated all together. I just need to make an adapter plate like the Chase Bays...

I'll be doing the same, just made by me at my buddies machine shop. that way, I can still use my BM-50 master.

AC's going to be the wind in my hair.

Either way....

Got a few things knocked out today...

Core support drilled out to make life easier mocking up mounts for the 32v, also threw some purple power at it to clean it up a bit.

Might have to go tube front on this car, it was always an option, but never a requirement... now it's looking to be the latter, as you can see, the core support is a bit boogered up...

I was lucky enough to scoop up an intake for my throttle body. Unknown brand, but was told it came with some aftermarket supercharger kit for our buddies 07 GT500.

Then, just screwing off in the garage, I found that a S14 5spd trans cross member is awful close to being perfect (redrill mount holes, woopdy doo!).

Now I'm just waiting on my buddy's hoist to be freed up, then it's time to make mounts and get this big bastard in the hole....

looks sweet man!!! hopefully that mount works out good for you man, hopefully it doesn't throw the driveshaft angle off horribly. Always love it when i see ppl boist about their custom tranny mounts for various swaps then a month later wonder why they go through u-joints and why it vibrates and shakes like a dog shitting razor blades. lol.

My advice would be to see what kind of angle the oem tranny has in relation to the driveshaft and diff before making a mount. that way you can be sure you have the proper driveshaft angle. Even a couple degrees off is a lot.

I learned about that when I was going to graft the S14 subrame in the S30 ( tail shaft actually angles towards the driver side trans tunnel, eh eh?), thanks for reminding me on that as you're right, and might have been something I overlooked.

Then rip my fresh shit apart in a 7K 3rd gear "Look how bad ass my ca.... or wait" entry.

You've also got me thinking about MS... so Maybe one of these days you can come up here (whopping 30 minute drive), and talk more about that, and possibly go over some wiring schematics? I'm 90% sure it's something I can handle, but would be nice to have a friend that know's 30x more than I do about it go over a few things with me.
