Ok. I'll put it this way. Drifters don't even have PS blowing out problems. So they were going Dukes of Hazzard style or something. I wouldn't be happy with just fixing the power steering, because there can (and if DoH style, probably are) other things that can happen. Tires for one. Heat-cycling Z rated tires is bad. Suspension, diff, any other thing involved in a "beating the hell out of the car" run can be damaged. So getting paid for the obvious issue is effectively the end of your case. Like insurance, once you cash their check, you're done. Even if more $$$ had to go into the fixing. So I'd take the car somewhere, have them triple check everything, look for tire wear, ect.
Or just sue.

I told him to get with owner and threaten them big time until they make it all go away per his satisfaction. PERIOD.
