Hey all,

Rinku - thanks for posting and getting everyone's insight on the matter.

XAT - thank you for being responsible citizens and calling me asking if I'd been around. It was totally unlike me not to stop by plus they know my driving style. Mad props to Adam for calling me!

All - Like any honorable individual, I can't place the full blame on them because:

1. I dropped it off w/out them/myself verifying odometer reading.
2. I naively trusted them.
3. I didn't distort the AVC-R or SAFC2 settings

Needless to say, the owner was all kiss-ass because there's no way they used 1/2 of fuel (I have no proof though) getting it into the booth.

There's no way that 21mm PS bolt backed out and spewed PS fluid across my engine bay driving from their lot to the booth. The owner had seen my bay and it's pristine cleansiness. He was f*ng pissed.

He admits that it's not right, pissed off that my car got taken, etc, etc. Said he personally install the kit and paint it and lock it up in his own house.

I'd like to say I have them by the balls but I partly blame myself for trusting them and not taking proper CYA (cover your a$$) procedures. That's not to say I'm going to back down but I simply cannot barge in w/ Desert Eagle in-hand and lay down the law.

Things to consider:
1. Threaten to publish experience via TampaRacing, Downshift, Makes & Models?
2. Official statement from XAT racing?
3. The car will be kitted and painted by the time I get back, they can hold my car unless I pay in full?

Its always rotten when you trust your vehicle with a shop of any sort and they damage and destroy your property, however sadly its an all too common phenomenon. I liken this experience to the scene in Ferris Bueler's Day Off where the 2 valets take Cameron's Ferrari and joyride it through the streets of Chicago. I think we all know what the roads are like over there in Drew Park so its safe to assume that the car was abused rather harshly.

While Jesse places some blame on himself for not detuning the car, truth be told the blame does not reside in any capacity with him. One should not need to do this with a respectable shop... Personaly, the course of action I would persue would be thus:

1.) Have the shop pay for all applicable repairs resulting from their employee's indescretion.
2.) Do not allow the shop to perform the work on the car. Getit fixed and take it else where.
3.) If they give you problems approach the better business bureau, as well as all local media. (TV Station's consumer interests)
4.) If all else fails litigate in civil court and watch them settle.

So, at any rate whatever you decide to do Jesse, I have no qualms with blackballing whoever it was that did this. As far as Makes and Models, I can assure you that George, the owner wont care. However, Channel 8, 10, 13, and 28 would probably be interested.
