Default 300zx z31 turbo questions

Okay smarty nissan heads, quick question. I bought a 85 from lakeland, and drove it back to the tampa bay, made it to downtown tampa near 60 and dalemabry and it ran outa gas,(the gas guage is messed up) i thought he said he put 5 gallons in, but he only put 5 dollars of gas

So i ran out of gas coming off of the highway and rolled into the parking lot of walmart. When i tried to start it again thinking i still had more gas in it. it started up just long enough for me to get around a corner and park it and it died. I guess it ran on some returned fuel or fumes.

I put 2 gallons of gas in it and tried to start it and nothing. didnt start, didnt sound like it really wanted to start. So I left it there. I came back the next day and tried to start it up, and it started and ran for around 10 mins while i changed out the front right tire cuz belts were starting to show through.

As i was changing the tire and had it off it died outa no where. Weird. tried to start it again, nothing, i know it didnt eat my 2 gals of gas, but i put 2 more gals in and it still didnt start. It does however start with starting fluid. so that tells me its my fuel system. I took off the return line to the tank and gas still shot out like it had full amount of pressure, so this must be my injectors??? all 6 dead??? highly unlikely...

Maybe the injectors are pressure locked. maybe the car is getting spark hot enough to ignite ethyr and not fuel? maybe a wire came loose for the injectors? the easiest way im going to try to see if things work is

#1. Drop gas into the intake directly, if it starts we have an injector problem
#2. Pull off the upper intake and pull off the injector rail and see if it spits gas out.

try your spark igniter next to the coil. tap on it, jiggle wires, etc. also maybe a bad cam position sensor, (in the dist). check codes. call the shop if all that don`t work 248-5649 ask for kyle

could it possible be the thing in the distributor that makes the spark really hot, maybe its just not hot enough for spark to get the gas going. hmm... starting and then dying sounds like loose wire to me. ill be jiggling some wires when i get down there today. Its at a buddy of mines chrome shop 30 miles away from home

also how much is it to take it to your shop and fix it for me? if its cheap enough ill just go there and have u look at it.

if you want it fixed you should bring it to kyle. no-one else gives a fuck about z31's anymore except him and a few select others in this area.

almost sounds like a bad fuel pump, fuel pump filter might have been sucking up crap with you driving it till empty

well i doubt its my pump. as hard as it shoots out gas when i take off my return line. also has a brand new fuel filter i just put on there a couple days after i ran outa gas. and how would it start and run for 10 mins and then die with a bad fuel pump. Ill probably bring it by that shop today. but we'll see

You ran the tank dry, sucked up all the crap in the bottom of the tank. You let it sit over night and depressurize and most of the crap fell loose. Car ran for about 10 min until the pressure built up at idle and sucked the crap back up into the pump. Your resolution would be to replace the pump and if you are still having problems you have clogged injectors.
