Whats up Nissan gurus...
My drivers side strut is bent. Im going to purchase the struts within a couple days and I was wondering...Would it be easy or hard to change the struts myself? Should I just take it to a mechanic? I do have a spring compressor available somebody told me I might need one of these.

I dont think anyone can really answer this part of your question. It depends on how mechanically inclined you are. And yes you WILL need a spring compressor.

you dont need a spring compressor for the front suspension if you are removing it. first of all romove the 2 lower bolts which hold the shock to the lower arm and assembly then undo the 3 bolts on top of the shocktower. move the shock/spring assembly over and put a carjack underneath it. then undo the bolt 11/16 size which holts the pillow mount to the shock.
the spring will loosen and simply lower the jack slowly as the spring uncompresses. then simply pull the whole thing out. If you are replacing with eibach sportlines or any other spring which gioves you more than 1.5 inch drop you wont need a spring compressor to put the assembly back together. Unless of course you are putting the stock springs back on...in that case charles is right you will need a spring compressor.

Screw delegance. They are less than 1/8 mile from my house ( I live in the same little complex called Tall Pines that you turn into to get to them) They are way overpriced man and arent super friendly either. Ralph and Jack I believe their names are. I dunno. Maybe its different now. Buy yourself a Haynes rent some spring compressors from Autozone and do it yourself. Its more fun anyways.
