Unhappy Clutch Lever decided it had enough

On my way home tonight about 2:30a.m. I rounded a corner on my way home and downshifted into second gear like normal. I take my foot of the clutch pedal and it stays on the floor. I pull off the side of the road and look under my hood and my clutch cable is just lying there. At first I think it might have been adjusted too loose. Then after about 5 sec it finally hits me. I shine the light down and sure enough, the damn clutch lever has a nice split running half way through it. Is it possible to bend the shift lever back to where the cracks meet together and have that welded without having to remove the tranny just long enough for me to drive the car while I wait for the new lever to arrive? 1 week max? Is there an easy temporary fix that I can do on a Sunday so I can drive to work and back for this week? Any help/advise/experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.
I'll post pictures tomorrow.
