Default need help primer/paint/clear

hello i am new here in this forum i need little help if anyone can help me ti really like to get it done like professional way. i have acura 97 and when i bought the car the guy he did sand the right side rear fender now i want to paint it.now there is a steel body i like to know what step should i take to start and till the end like 351COUPE did with his fender i mean painted and shiny plz can anyone write down in detail how to do and which sand papper do i need to use?in my car rear fender is fully sanded there is silver metal showing i like to know do i need to do primer after that putty then primer then paint or first putty then primer?plz explane me in details.

I suggest if you not confident in this area that you seek out a bodyshop. The fender he painted looks good and takes experiance. There are guys here that paint and may give you a fair price. This is not something you can just do without equipment and knowledge.

well i have all the equipment and i did b4 and it came really good.and i only need info about clear coat cuz when i did clear coat after what what grid of sand papper do i need to use to make it smooth and what of rubbing compound do i use to make it shiny.i use b4 in my other car the paint came out very good and i did clear coat too but after rubbing there was not that much shine like it should be.

onething more its not about the money i want to do myself i love to work on cars.

Well you can sand clear with 1000 grit or finer but you have to buff it after that.

and its a matter of opinion on which compound to use but ya you need a high speed buffer .... compound i use Is 3M perfect-IT II thats old school shit for ya but does the best I cut with it and glaze with it no swirls nothing

Thanks alot guys when silver body is showing after sanding do i need to do epoxy primer?is that very important?epoxy primer is it only for for when the sliver metal showing on the body to wont get rust?
