Previous owner did a crappy quick paint job on my car. over spray on the head lights and tail lights.what would be good to use to get it off without hurting the plastic?

tried compound on a rag but it didnt work. i will try clay.

 

You could always use some wet 1500 grit and buff them afterwards.

 

^ or some thinner,either one will have to be buffed out afterwards.You prolly won't have enough ass to get it off by hand with compound,a buffer and a whool pad works wonders.

 

put a little gasoline on a rag, rub it lightly.

 

fine steel wool and than rubbing compound

 

Got a good bit off when using the headlight cleaning kit. The paint on the headlights and trim are not the least of my problems. Both back quarter panels appear to have been bondo'd beyond belief and the drivers door skin is coming off.

 

this wouldnt be a eg hatch would it ?

 

Sand and buff them. thinner will melt plastic
