You're having problems because your HDR image is 16 bit and jpegs can only be 8 bit. It's been a while since I've done HDR so I don't remember exactly how you counteract that.
I think tone mapping, but not sure. I bet someone chimes in with a real answer soon.

HDR is 32 bit. I will try and change it to 8 bit and see if that works.

one side note, please never use brightness and contrast to make pictures lighter or darker. Levels, curves or exposure!

More of a technical question I think.
I DL the trial, did the torrent and all that. I needed to DL a font and when I did it turned it into a PS file and not a TTF file.
What the hell is it doing now?

Windows Key + 'r' -> type 'fonts', press enter -> Drop down the menu, click 'Install new font' -> browse to your font, select it, click ok.
That should do the trick. You can usually (but every once in a while it doesn't work) do it with photoshop open and it will let you use the new font immediately.
