Matt started with zero knowledge on it too. He's come along way. Just takes playing with it, taking the good with the bad and learning LOL

And your welcome

First pic is very good!

If you share your steps we may be able to tell you how to get a bit better result. Your two exposures aren't quite aligned perfectly.

A camera may still move slightly with a tripod, the tree's being in different positions/movements in the back may very well be the wind, but I love the picture. It's amazing.
Rep for joo.

Ok try this:
Open the ligher picture and the darker picture.
Dark Picture Window - Select All, Copy. Close picture.
Light Picture Window - Paste.

Now, take a look at your layers window. (Window->Layers I think). You'll see you have two layers, the background (your lighter picture) and another layer on top of it. At the bottom of that window is a button, a rectangle with a white circle in it... click it. Now, if you look at your layers again, you'll see that there's a white box next to the little pic of your layer.

Now, you've just created a layer mask. Click on that mask. Now, go to your tools, select the gradient tool. (If you cant see it, click and hold on the bucket tool and it will appear) Make sure your colors are set to black and white. Now, make a gradient from top to bottom - white to black. Play with it untill you're happy. Once that's done, you can paint the car in white with any white brush to make your bottom/lighter layer to show through.

Does that make sense?
