Some of those shots are nice. Some look like the cars were photoshopped into the backgrounds.
they were, but thats part of the process as well, 80% of teh images you see in mags are all blended compositions. Sometimes we cant make teh sky look the way we want it the day of teh shoot, so we shoot with the mindset ofteh background being different. You dont know how many days i go out and just shoot clouds, when we get some rain over here in vegas (which is very rare) usually the sky is just plain blue, which is awesome for everything else but dramatic photography. lol

I'm trying to become more interested in "staged" or "produced" automotive images, but I havent had my fill of capturing motorsport images. I take a lot of inspiration from John Thawley's motorsport images. He is also one of the few pros that I talk to a regular basis and seems to take an interest in helping other photographers - pretty rare!!

Thanks but i wasnt the person who thought it up, i stole the idea from a friend whom is a fashion photog lol.

Thawley shoots some great photos. btw, he is a giant, I saw a photo of him and he looks about 7 feets tall!

If you truly want an inspirational character and a stand up guy check out some of Richard Prince's work.

He was a motivation for me getting into automotive work.
