usually bundles are a no no. they add in useless junk to make it sound more appealing. I would say buy something used for your first camera, either like a D80 or Xti, If you're new to picture taking you don't want to spend alot of money right away on something that you might not even still wanna do a few months down the road. So i say buy something cheap, master that first then if you are still feeling serious about it after a few months then you can upgrade for cheap to something better.

I bought a bundle from adorama

I got the camera, kit lens, 4GB card, carrying case, lens cleaning kit, 3yr warranty, USB adapter and extra battery. I dont think thats useless? It came to a little over $1,000 shipped and this was when the price of the XSi was at around 850 just for camera and lens.

I know you've had the XSi for a few months now, but still it hasn't come down that much in price has it?

^ Yes it has lol. The camera with kit lens was around 850ish when I bought it. I've had it since June I believe?

The adapter is for the memory card if you dont have a SD reader on your computer. Also I forgot the $60 tripod. lol

The d60 is my first dslr and I absolutely love it. I bought this package from ritz. Nikon D60 Digital SLR Two-Lens VR Outfit (18-55 VR/55-200MM F4-5.6G VR) -Exclusive Black Gold Edition -Includes FREE Gadget Bag & DVDs - 25459-2166-2176 - RitzCamera.com It's a pretty good deal as both lenses are the vibration reduction lenses. I still have a shit load to learn about photography but this camera is great even with my little skill.

I still say buy something dirt cheap like a D40 and master that first and then see if your ready for an upgrade after that, If you can't master a D40 and produce amazing shots with it then i'm not sure if you deserve anything better one of my pet peeves is when people are using a DSLR and producing P&S results

i would start with a d40 as you can pick up a d40 body very cheap now. then pick a lens or two that would be appropriate for what your wanting to shoot.

The D40 is very very very capable and 90% of the people on here would never need anything more than that
