I read David Busch's nikon d60 guide to digital slr photography and it was a great read. Real in depth about the specific camera. I am not sure if he has a d40 book or not but they are basically the same camera so you could easily get by with the d60 book. I am now reading mastering digital photography by the same author. It has some nice tips and pointers about various shooting conditions. It is really helping a newb like me out.

Damn Mike, that sucks. The construction industry is at its worst right now - if you guys want to look for jobs in Pinellas let me know and I'll get you some names and numbers. You too, Jon.

That sucks about the loss mike. And I agree with Chris, the construction industry is in the absolute shitter. My dad has had to lay off atleast 8 employees... now down to him and one other guy. He used to work from 6AM-6PM. Now he's lucky if he gets to work until 9AM.
