T1i - looks real promising. Nikon is starting to slack. All I have to say is they better be working on something, and FAST.

Yeah and like Canon has a lot of options now. It may be too much but I like having a lot of options, if I were in the market of searching for a new camera/first time buyer...
Again, I just think Nikon is slacking lately. They need some new lenses too. I like the range of lenses Canon has. Chris will probably say I'm stupid for some of this lol

Well, since you asked...
My opinion about the camera:
I think it's nice. I think it's decently priced and brings some nice features, but not sure I agree with the "upper-entry-level" description. $800 is beyond entry level IMO.
My opinion about your statements about Nikon in relation to Canon:
You've fallen for the interwebz hype. You're slowly succumbing to the mentality that you need to be a part of the name brand with the latest and greatest product. Canon's product line has no effect on the capabilities of Nikon's lineup. So what if the entry level Canon is fancier than the equivalent Nikon? You have a semi-pro Nikon body, so why does the entry level Canon matter to you? It shouldn't, but it seems to.
Let's not forget that cameras are for taking pictures, and the camera you have now is more than capable of doing so.

Ok point taken, well put. lol
I think I said it though, IF I were in the market as a newb looking at all the options, I would probably go Canon. I think thats was I was trying to get out. I feel Nikon should compete a little more and bring out more options because from what I've seen with the D40/60, they have nothing on the equivalent Canons and there is no in between, other than the D90 which can hold its own, but may have now been topped by this.

Yeah, I can understand what you're saying about people who are starting out - I guess my statements were based on your previous conversations with me about "jumping ship" to Canon.
