It depends on which countries you're going to. I didnt check a bag on the way there, but on the way back it went like this:

When I got to Detroit, I went through the first part of customs, HAD to pick up my bag, go through stage 2 of customs, and then I just rechecked my bag and headed for my next plane.

Flying from one place to another in a country, or between countries that have certain treaties (i.e. European Union) your bag gets transfered from plane to plane by itself.

Well I am really pissed right now, I have 45 hours of travel time to get to France. I'm traveling alone & away from my wife so I highly doubt I'll be having fun, more so I'll be afraid to do anything since I'll be in a country that I never been to, & I'm not much of a traveler so I now have to figure out what I am going to do.

I don't want to bring to much clothes but at the same time I have to bring clothes to last me 12 days & a suite for Cannes because I'm going to be walking the red carpet & you can wear blue jeans and a dress shirt when its a formal event. I'm not sure if anyone knows what Cannes film festival is but its the worlds largest and most recognized film festival, All if not most A list actors will be there.

Holy crap that is a long day I have flown to Dubai, India, and Australia and never had times like that damn! Sorry the flights themselves aren't that long so ambien probably isn't a good idea.

I am having them fix it pronto, this is not happening. I could live with 7 hours but not 30 hours considering I'd be missing time from the event in Cannes.

I spoke with the expedia today & they said it'd be 400$ to change my flight from the 10th to the 9th and I'd have a delayed flight in NY for three hours. Not bad?

I'm going to have to, I'd not only be in a airport for 30hours, when I touch down in Nice, France I'd have to wait from 10:00 shared_pm till 9:00 am to get a buss to bring me into Cannes.
