Default Fellow enthusiast wanting to learn

Hello all,

I've recently ventured into the DSLR world. I've been reading, reading, researching and I've gone through pages within this forum and others trying to get as much information in as I can as well as learning the camera. Was wondering by any chance if anyone would be interested in helping me learn hands on? From advise, to any tricks, as well as any tips. I got a grasp of it by reading, but I'm more of a hands on type of learner. I really want to learn photography. I'm in the St. Pete area but I am willing to drive within the Tampa/Tampa Bay area to learn as well as get to know fellow photographers.

I have Nikon D3000 with the lens kit. Also have (4) lens filters... UV, Diffusion, Circular Polarize, and don't recall the last one since I'm at work at the moment and I just got them yesterday. I also bought a spare battery and plenty of memory cards.

Thanks... I just signed up for a flickr account so here's two photos.

Non-edited

Edited (only removed the feet on the upper left, the body of my other dog on the right, also the leash and the dark shadow and part of an outdoor table/bench)

Thanks! Practice makes perfect. I will continue to practice... so that way I learn, get better, and also look back on my progress.
