Default Nitrous Problems.

I'm having some trouble with my NOS nitrous system. In higher gear, under WOT, I get a surging/pulsating from my nitrous system. It isn't the "air-in-the-line" surge you get from not purging, but a distinct feeling you get that the nitrous is being injected in spurts, never fully going off, but definitely being injected in a wave-like manner. In lower gears, it isn't so noticeable, but at higher speeds, in higher gears, it's as clear as day. In park with the car off, I manually pushed the throttle switch and you could hear the pulsating as the nitrous came out of the lines.

The system has been fully purged. There are no contaminants in the lines. The jets are clean, the fogger is clean, everything is aesthetically clean. I've been told at another forum that it is most likely a solenoid issue, but I'd like a second opinion before I drop $90 on a new solenoid.

My solenoids are mounted on the firewall right behind the intake manifold, with the nitrous solenoid being maybe 2-3 inches from the manifold. I'm sure that it experiences some pretty intense heat which may have killed it. Should I relocated them or create a heat shield?

Oh, and the kit is mounted on a 2001 Daewoo Lanos Sport...

/commence laughing.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Sounds like dwindling bottle pressure to me ...

Higher pressure begining of the run in lower gears lowering as the run increases in time/speed/gear ..

This causes a pulsating effect because of the rich condition being induced into the motor because of the lack of nitrous

Do you have a bottle warmer or pressure gauge ? Bottle pressure needs to be kept consistant to keep a good "hit" if the pressure drops it will lower the Nitrous' effectiveness

Yeah, I have a gauge on the bottle. I thought this too at first, but my pressure has been consistently above 900 PSI. It exhibited this problem the day after I got the bottle filled at Race Related. I weighed the bottle right after and sure enough, it was full to the 10 lb capacity.

I guess it could be freaking out because of the recent cold weather up here in Gainesville.

I do need a warmer though.

every once in awhile you may catch the tail end of a fill and the bottle doesnt feel right . I have this happen like once every 10 fills or so .

I would use it up or get it re-filled with a shop with a n20 pump freeze the bottle good and get a warmer ..

and definatley get a Warmer on that thing
