Default poor man's itr ej1 coupe

havent seen anything too interesting in these threads so for so ill post my build up. i bent some valves one night and had no compression in cylinder no.4. pulled the head and decided i might as well do the rings while im going to have down time than decided i might as well raise the compression and contacted rs machine for their 81mm pr3 pistons. all assembly work was done by me on the bottom end.

1st gen b16 head
skunk2 stage 2 cams
supertech valvetrain and portflow nitride flat faced valves
new valve seals,bronze valve guides
portflow 3 angle valve job

00 gsr block
81 X 87.2
81mm pr3 piston
stock gsr rods and rod bolts

00 gsr trans
skunk2 pro series intake manifold
hytech replica header
2 1/2 in test pipe and exhaust piping exiting a magnaflow muffler
custom 3 inch cold air intake with a velocty stack routed out the front grill.

p28 chipped and socketed with a p73 rom for now afrs look good during part throttle. starts to lean out in vtec though and has a rich idle. timing is set on the street. ill fine tune it once i get on the dyno. upon driving around for a few miles i notcied heavy blue/gray smoke coming from the exhaust. upon closer inspection i discovered no.3 cylinder wrist pin failed and was protruding out of the side of the piston and dug 2 grooves into the cylinder wall. long story short domestic machine shops suck working on import parts lol. im looking for another block now to reinstall everything into onto the pics.
my brothers donor gsr that got totalled

the coupe's old set up

Use P30 pistons instead of the PR3's if you can get your hands on them unless you are going aftermarket because i don't advise to use ctr pistons because of their compression.

its better to use the gsr block with the ls crank and pr3 pistions the girdle is the best thing you can have on a b series

pr3's and jdm b16 pistonpct's are ctr'sas for the the set up. its gsr crank and rods in an ls not ls crank and rods. I was contemplating have the machine shop install the girdle from the gsr onto the 3 ls mains. but they're are plently of high reving non girdled lsvtec/b0vtec and b16 out there. im going to reuse the gsr block and have it sleeved and bored down the road anyway.as for my current ls block I should have it back from the machine shop tomorrow and assembly can begin. stopped at acura yesterday to order a new wrist pin. ill have that tuesday. ill post pics as things progress.

Imo that gsr crank is gonna kill u really bad on achieving your high comp goals. Keep in mind that the LS block has a high deck height, and ur gonna be using a 87.2 mm crank in a block that originaly had an 89 mm in it. Do u still have the LS crank with that block?

Please excuse the post above for that I had my information all wrong. The b18c1 deck height is 212.4 mm while the b18a/b has a 211.8 mm deck height. I apologize for the illinformed post.
