S&R Performance Closed Deck Subaru Short Blocks - AVAILABLE NOW!
After a solid year of trying, testing, re-trying, re-testing and more, our Closed Deck Short Blocks are available!
Our in-house engineer and CNC Machinist saw a demand for a block design that was different, easier and more cost effective than the typical sleeving process. He got to the drawing board and played with a few different variations and tried a few different things. At the end of the day, he got it down, TIGHT!
Here is it is!
We start with new STi Short Block Halves in our CNC Machine. They are secured and the CNC begins to cut the seat into the water jackets. This creates a consistent and secure seat for our braces. Here are a few pics of the block halves after the first round of machining and a video. (working on getting a better vid)

The inserts are cut from a single piece of aluminum. We try and cut quite a few from each piece.
We then go through and press the inserts into the machined seats and the cylinders are finished hone to the proper size for the pistons.
The finish work is completed and the block is ready for assembly!
We currently offer these in our popular Stage 1 and Stage 2 configurations

It's our opinion that this is a viable solution for anyone looking for make over 500-600hp and not have to worry about the cylinder walls breaking.
We have also already completed 2 STi Manley Stroker Kit blocks that are running SOLID! Those will be offered shortly! They are beasts!
These motors are always sold with NO CORE DUE.
