FS; 1990 GTUs, 1 of 100 verifiable, $1800
first off my offer wasnt a low ball offer for the condition of the car. you pmed me back sayin it would only cost 600 to fix. thats impossible, for good diamont paint and clear would cost 600 alone. nevermind the body work, fender and labor it needs. who would want to maaco a rare car? noone. i offered you 1100 which is about what its worth after you have to put nearly 2k into it to get it nice on the outside. the car is rare but its a mess, and no matter how rare it is, its not a turbo. if you go on the rx7club and search a gtus goes for 3k it great condition.
hes got a point i wouldnt pay more then 2k for it.

And SMG944 you have no idea what you're talking about. It is a GTUs, NO power windows, NO sunroof. It is 1 out of 100, meaning that there was only 100 GTUs made with manual windows and NO sunroof. And your offer IS LOWBALLING if the Seller says it is no matter what you think...
GTUs owns so hard. chris takes good care of his automobiels, im sure if he got it with paint, it would still have paint
fc3cturbo, i know exactly what im talking about. ill pull up 3 rx7 gtus's that are in great condition for 3-3.5k.

Thanks Andrew and FC3C.
SMG, you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. If the car isnt worth 1800 to you, then you arent in the market for a GTUs. go find youself a clean shape GTU if you want a pretty car and arent concerned w/ the exclusivity factor. I can guarantee you, all day long, that this car is THE 1st rarest RX7 that ever came to the states. the only car other car that is RARER than the 1990 GTUs is the Halmersport GTO edition in 1990, which there were only TWO of, and never came to the US. this car is even more exclusive than the "limited" 10th Anniversary edition.
its so rare, that they werent even announced for sale in 1990, they were only allocated to certain dealers. there was no product documentation. there were small ads in 1989 and the only mention of this car in the owners manual are where they speak of the rear end servicing and transmission.
This is what is for sale
this car is NOTHING like a GTU/S5 base model. i assure you, youll never find a 1990 GTUs in youre life. considering that you say paint and body will cost $1100, on top of a $1800 buy-in price, you can have a GREAT condition GTUs for LESS than what everyone else is selling their 1989 GTUs' for elsewhere in the country. by you posting those threads of cars going for More money simply proves the point that My price discounted to $1800 is fair. you ask anywhere on RX7club, and this price is more than fair for this car in THIS condition. the people that OWN these cars who are the ones PAYING for them agree that its worth $1800. the only people who know the worth of a car are the ones BUYING them. since you havent BOUGHT a GTUs, i dont think your opinion of worth counts, especialy if you arent willing to step up to the table. If you want an $1100 RX7, go find an S4 base-model or an S5 GTU/Coupe. trust me, the fenders are $70 each. if you have a friend that paints, its only $160 for catalyst, clear, base and reducer at Finish line paint supply. the money it would cost to bring this car to Fair condition would be LESS than if you found an all original GTUs and paid $3500 for it. If youd like me to, i can get the paint and body done on the car and sell it to you for $3500, and make close to a grand in profit off you. would you rather that?
I dont want to seem like a dick about all of this, theres no reason to be a stingey bastard when it comes to a Rare project car. it has alot of potential in the right hands. the GTUs is more than a sum of its parts. i guess youd have to be a REAL rotary enthusiast to truley appreciate a car like this... maybe this car isnt for you. you may want to get a 240sx...
