If this will be your first car, stay away from the rx7's as they require a lot of attention, and upkeep in maintenance.

A mazdaspeed protege can provide a lot of speed and reliable car to get around in all in one package.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. Rx7's are simple as hell to work on, alot easier then a FWD 4cylinder. As long as you can read you can work on them. I've found they are the easiest engine/ cars to work on. If you just keep up with the routine maintenance they will run perfect, just like any other car. I'd dive into a nice 88' Rx7 if I was you and begin your life-long rotary affair

rdhonda's protege is a good buy if its the bp motor there tons of replacement parts it and any part form 94-02 escort will fit so theres of suspention stuff for it and as long as its the bp 1.8 it has ton of motor parts you can even go get the bp-t turbo parts and they bolt right on even the computer will run that motor next to a honda civic id take a old protege .. rx7's are cool to but i think you be happyer with a protege
