Who wants to make 300 bucks changing the tranny in my corolla....
i found a guy that did a tranny swap for me, same type of deal on a civic d series engine for 150 bucks and for all the work i saw him do(which i helped with)i gave him 50 bucks extra. Obviously the reason i'm asking here is because i don't have 800 bucks to do a tranny swap on a car only worth about 1200 bucks.....i could give a fuck less how much YOU guys would charge, especially since i have like 5 pm's with offers to have it done.....I don't have much money at all and i figure for someone who knows what their doing this shouldn't be a hard task at all...........but i can tell for all you guys this would be an extremely difficult task....
If your so tight then I suggest you go buy a manual and get those pretty little hands dirty and grow some balls to go change it.

If your so smart why don't you go change your own tranny, dont knock others down that are willing to do work but not for peanuts. You think that person who is going to change it for you is going to give a shit about quality work for 300 dollars?

im sure someone will help out...i was simply pointing out that really the job would be more money for most even the street mechanic. the "book says over 4.5 hours for the job. thats ONE removal and installation. add another 2.5 for removal of another tranny. thats 7 hours worth of book work. the normal shop charges at LEAST 65/hr. thats already at LEAST 455. plus taxes shop fees etc....
the point is theres no problem asking for cheap help....theres a problem when you get pissy at people who offer help but ask for actual pay....because they know what their time/skill/experience/and knuckles are worth.

ummm, in case you didn't calculate into your figures, do you know what that $65 per hour HAS TO PAY FOR? I'm sure going down the road with some tools in your truck has no where near the overhead of owning a 15 acre lot at the corner of I-75 and Bruce B Downs with over 100 employees w/ insurance/medical/etc.
