of course it matters you moron, Hypothetically if you ask some computer guy to come repair your PC would you expect to be charged the same amount of money as what it would cost if a "DELL Certified Technician" came to do the same repairs? of course not jackass!!!! also the things that go along with getting a shop to do work(warranty on work in particular) don't apply to work done by an individual, and besides a mechanic shop doesn't just pay the mechanic, like tnathe says, and bunch of other factors go into the price(materials, time spent, paying mechanic, taxes....etc.) if you can't understand why a backyard tranny job should cost much less than a professional shop doing a tranny job then there is no reason for us to even continue this conversation......YOU my friend are a fool.......

youre an idiot. do you even think about the shit that comes out of your mouth?

what are you choices? shop or backyard mechanic right? ooook so if a shop charges one price...and a bym charges less that makes sense. but to charge just 1/3 of a shop is dumb. and i dont know who you get to do work... but even a bym should stand by his work.

maybe i should chop another 100 bucks off of any job i do and then not care if it works properly or blows up or anything goes wrong.... according to you thats the case.

either way i dont give a damn. like i said before you asking for cheap labor isnt the problem...you spouting off when people give you higher prices to do it even though its still cheaper then any shop...makes you a moron.... the end.

who cares if laughingman wants to help someone else out by offering them a job that pays better than ANY shop would pay their techs. even if the tech. was experienced, he would be making around $15-20/hour and say this job payed a whopping 10 hours. that's anywhere from $150-200 for a days labor, and yes most techs put in a minimum of 10 hour days. i work in a garage, i know how things go down. dealerships charge close to $100/hour. So EVERYONE benefits from this deal.

man you fucks are dumbasses. $300 for a tranny swap on a 1.6 rolla that easy money. ITS NOT A SHOP. you cant point out what a SHOP would charge if its not a shop. if its 82.00(like at firestone where i work) thats great but the tech is only making $10-20 an hour on that. and the tech is doing the job on the SIDE therefore you only charge what YOU DO. not what a SHOP does. you bitch complain and talk about what it should cost you get what you pay for yes for 800 bucks the SHOP will do it. and they give you lifetime warranty on the work, flush it out, put it on a lift, pay a guy $14 an hour, clog up a bay, and that doesnt even cover all the charges. if he doesnt want a warranty then fuck it thats on him. if it breaks through no fault of your own then your in the right and if you cant handle dealing with that then dont do the damn job its such a simple thing to do. The more experience the same damn price. who cares if you know more or have been doing it longer a job is a job there is a right way and a wrong way. if it takes less time cuz you know more why the fuck would you charge more. hes even loaning you tools and help. and he already has parts. Why the hell would you post a bullshit comment up if you are not gonna help the guy that is fucking ridiculous you should all be fucking shot. Bro if i had time i would do it and i wouldnt even charge you 300 bucks.
