Default AEM EMS Released for 2004 - 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Thought I would post this. Always nice to have another option for the Subaru crowd

30-1820: EMS for 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (US 2.5L model only, we do not have pinout info for overseas models).
30-1821: EMS for 2005-2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI (US 2.5L model only, we do not have pinout info for overseas models).

The 2007-2008 STI is not currently supported, but we intend to support it in the future.
If the wiring for the 2006-2008 WRX (non-STI) is similar to the 2007 or 2008 STI, we will attempt to support the WRX as well.

The 30-1820 and 30-1821 are AEM's first EMS applications that take complete control of the OEM Electronic Throttle Body. The EMS controls the throttle linearly and accurately using a sophisticated closed-loop algorithm: throttle response feels very similar to a traditional cable throttle. The pedal vs. throttle relationship is linear and may feel different than the stock ECU's non-linear relationship, but the vast majority of people who have tested this EMS prefer the throttle response compared to the stock ECU.

Idle control and feedback is similar to traditional pulsewidth-type idle motors: a larger pulsewidth will increase the idle speed, there is a lookup table to correlate idle speed vs. idle pulsewidth, and closed-loop feedback control parameters can be adjusted to ensure a smooth idle and prevent stalling.

The EMS does not support cruise control; the factory cruise control will not work when the EMS is installed. The buttons on the OEM steering wheel are used to calibrate the Electronic Throttle Control module, it is recommended that the user leave the factory wheel installed or add switches into the wiring harness. More info can be found in the instruction manual for the 30-1820/30-1821.

The AEM-supplied startup calibration uses the factory MAP sensor, the factory MAF sensor is only used for Intake Air Temperature measurement. Users can remove the factory MAF sensor, and we recommend installing a new IAT sensor downstream of the intercooler.

More info to follow: hybrid boost compensated fuel map, Variable Valve Control, and EMS boost control options/setup...
