Default Check your oil pick up tube

I'm sure some of you already know this, but as a reminder... check your oil pick up tube. Its a small investment to protect your engine.

Its apparent the oil pick up tube fails on the EJ25 motor at 30 to 40k miles. I just replaced mine and it was cracked half way around the tube where the flange connects to the block. There is a trend of this failure on IWSTI and NASIOC.

Just a PSA.

It was about 3 hours of labor total. Could be done in less.

I need to rebuild the engine again. I'm looking for another alternative to the OEM pick up line. Cant afford to loose another build.

What approach did you take in order to remove the oil pan? Did you pull the motor a bit or just raise it on the mounts?

Good to know. On a thread I read last night the guy unbolted the radiator and raised the motor a tad bit so I figured it wouldnt clear the subframe with the motor unraised.
