Default On June 20 2020 at The Keystone Motor Club meeting held at Winn Dixie 17649 Gunn High

On June 20 2020 at The Keystone Motor Club meeting held at Winn Dixie
17649 Gunn Highway and Van Dyke Road, East side of parking lot.
-------------------------------
Our Highly Informal Strictly Voluntary newsletter is here: (over 11,000 views)

https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/e...or-club-5.html
-------------------------------

A week prior to the meeting, we cleared away some of the underbrush. Thank you to all who helped.
On Meeting day Milt Roorda hauled a lot of it away and placed some temporary meeting signs
on each side of the "notch". That may have encouraged the automotive street turkeys not to fill the
spaces we took...or maybe the stinking armadillo aroma scared them off. Gen Rummy found the
armadillo and tossed it far from our spot, although the aroma lingered a bit. The aroma won't be there
next time thanks to some local turkey buzzards.
-------------------------------
We had acquired sixteen 5 gallon buckets of dirt, for a total of 80, thanks to Attorney Michael Snively of Snively Law. Dirt was spread where bottles, cans, and underbrush once was.
Thanks to Gen Rummy's pickup truck usage and all who helped. There will be a few more
deliveries of dirt filling some ruts at our meeting spot before the August meeting.
4 buckets from Lowes said "Doing it Right".
--------------------------------
Milt Roorda had mounted the Keystone sign that Jan Nelson got permission for, from Winn Dixies manager. It's lit and on a post next to where we hold our meetings. This is approximately what it says:
KEYSTONE MOTOR CLUB
meets every 3rd Saturday
10AM -NOON 813-839-4281
or 813-452-7807
---------------------------
Vic Piano was Guest MC for the meeting (GMC) and joked about proper preparation of road kill armadillo.
Vic also donated some trash bags to the Keystone Motor Club. Bob Vail is temporarily holding the club's trash bags.
Milt and Rosemary Roorda brought a few antique honest-to-gosh metal toys for display on their antique table,
We talked about having a driving tour. Milt and Vic had two types of suggestions.
Maybe the next step would be to plan specifically where to go and add to the ideas/suggestions.
--------------
If anyone has some leftover small amounts of liquid Roundup, the club has a good use for it.
---------------------------
We need someone reliable on a regular basis to call Dick Peterson for meeting notifications. He has no computer usage. I have his number.
Further meeting suggestions are welcome and will be passed on. If you have thoughts, make them known.
Email me, text me, call me or post in the newsletter. We are willing to listen.
----------------------------------------------
The 50/50 drawing was operated by Alan Mevorah and $20 went into the gas tank of Bob Carter's '57 Chevy. lol ...actually Bob Carter donated the $20 back to the club. Thanks, Bob Carter!
----------------------
Hey Bob, thank you for running these nice pics. (sent in member emails) Actually, he donated the 20 bucks back to KMC to help offset some reason expenses.-Alan
----------------------
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
No one said a word to me and I was not aware of any donation since there were no
expenses and I only got the club's part. I stapled the $20 to the sign-in sheet as well as acknowledged that I was holding it for the club. I also posted in the Keystone newsletter that I was holding it temporarily. This is that post.
-Bob
-----------------------
Bob Vail stapled the $20 to the sign-in list, and will hold it temporarily until we have voted up a treasurer.
(We know where he lives lol )

The roll of 50/50 tickets was given to Rosemary Roorda to hold until the next Keystone meeting on July 18 2020.
----------------------------------------------
Vic Piano is still the keeper of the table and tent for when we need them.
Milt Roorda is the current keeper of the banner.
-----------------------------------------------
I see a trend of a meeting format with:
1.starting with socializing and BS'ing, about cars, then
2.discussing anything/business previously brought up, car events attended, then
3.discussing any fresh ideas/new business currently being brought up, future car events, then
4.Personal Items for sale, trade or Want-to-buy.
5.other commercial companies which members recommend, and as always........buying from Winn Dixie if possible.
If we need to add/delete/rearrange categories, let me know.........If I leave anything out, let me know.
-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------

Default You are invited to a Keystone Motor Club party that you just don't want to miss

You are invited to a Keystone Motor Club party that you just don't want to miss. Mark your calendars now for Dec. 19, 2020 10AM to noon or so. The WOK—Women of Keystone are busy planning a Wassailing Party. What is Wassailing you ask? Wassailing is a traditional Anglo-Saxon ancient custom of offering a hot apple cider drink that included cream, apples, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, oranges, and all sorts of non-alcohol secret ingredients to wish "to your good health.” Caroling is optional, and the courageous may do one brief entertaining song...lol Along with the Hot Wassailing, we will have little tree cakes, and Christmas cookies for everyone.

As promised, everyone who attends the Keystone Motor Club, will receive a donated Christmas mystery package, along with chances for numerous door prizes, and the 50/50 raffle. Christmas attire is optional, but it would be fun to see several Santas spreading cheer. So, we hope to see everyone on Dec. 19, at 10:00 a.m. at 17649 Gunn Highway and Van Dyke road, on the east side of Winn Dixie parking lot. We'll flag you in over the finish line! See you all there!

Default What we did on November 21 3rd Saturday Keystone Motoring Club

What we did on November 21 3rd Saturday Keystone Motoring Club
Hi Bob.
Happy to post a little bit about the Keystone Motor Club and their monthly get together on the third Saturday morning (10 AM-noon or so....) Winn-Dixie, Gunn Highway and Van Dyke Road. No Dues, no requirements, You just need to be a motorhead 🙂

🙂 “thank you’s” go out to (in no particular order) Bob Vail for generally arranging things. Gen for her delicious Chili, and for a bunch of giveaways. Isabella for taking pictures. Debbie Baker for her delicious corn bread. Earl Baker, selling 50-50 tickets. Vic Piano an outstanding MC; and his donation of a big bunch of Car Magazines. And Anybody else I have overlooked,
Thanks for coming, folks.
Alan Mevorah
-------------------
Our Thanksgiving Chili Cookout on Nov. 21 was full of surprises. The WOK, the Women of Keystone, provided meaty chili and delivered hot cornbread. We had 16 door prizes of all sorts, 2 kid's packs, and the 50/50 drawing! Lots of new faces and returning of old friends in freshly washed cars. All cars were received with the finished line checkered flag. What fun!

Our next car show will be Dec. 19 with a Wassailing Party, more door prizes, and everyone will receive a donated mystery gift. More on the Wassailing Party in next notice. Until then, remember there is something for everyone. See you then!
Gen Rummy
--------------------
The 50-50 was operated by Earl Baker who brought Debbie Baker in their 1950 Ford.
After door prize bags were given out, all tickets were put back in the container, shuffled and the 50/50 ticket was drawn. The pot was won by Joe Avanzato who donated $5 to the club, and thanks to all donations we collected $33 which brought a total $109 into the KMC treasury. This is the public acknowledgement at post # 316 in the Keystone newsletter: Bob Vail is voluntarily holding the total amount of $109 for the club.
----------------

Pictures from Photographer Isabella Bradley will be emailed out in a few days once I figure how to do that (the email list is long) as well as pics going into the Keystone History.
--------------
Should we be adding more advance notices to our meetings as a planning tool?
Advance notice:
We will be starting the New Years day Intercoastal tour from Sunset Park, Tarpon Springs
(A straight shot to the West from Odessa) and taking some back roads alongside the Intercoastal
waterway to Madiera Beach, St Pete.
We will have printed directions for each participant and we will need a tour leader to step up
as KTM (Keystone Tour Master) for the day.

-----------------
Advance notice:
Coming to December 19 Keystone meet and greet, there will be Christmas Wassailing with live entertainment, Christmas mystery gifts, Door prizes, 50/50 etc.
----------------
Social distance with us, drive through and beep your horn, or back in, open your hood
and hang out for a while.

Default What we did on December 19 2020 at Keystone Motor Club

What we did on December 19 2020 at Keystone Motor Club
First pointing out that we are a strictly voluntary Car club and if you see something that needs to be done, let Bob Vail know with email or a phone call....or just step up and say:
"This is what I want to do...." We also have ANONYMOUS suggestions if you request to
add it to a meeting agenda to test the idea without using anyone's name.

-----------------------------
The December 19, 2020 Keystone Motor Club's last meeting was full of surprises!
We were “Wassailed!” The WOK—Women of Keystone provided hot apple cider drinks to everyone, full of secret ingredients along with little tree cakes, Dutch cookies, and donuts. Yes, we had holiday entertainment with a Christmas Pun to holiday songs, like “Grandma got ran over by a Chrysler.”
We passed out a very nice full color Souvenir Collectors Edition of the "CARolling" Christmas song book to everyone who stepped up for one. Can you imagine how those songs went?
We sang Happy Birthday to Tom Morookian. As promised, everyone got a mystery gift (plus about 10 bags for kids) along with a chance for 12 door prizes. Another nice surprise is that the winner of the 50/50 got $37!
Roughly counting, we had about 36 cars and 60 people? We had to start a fifth row of cars.....Imagine that? Some people are arriving at 930 for the 10AM car meet. The Christmas Santa Claus from Dillards was won by Dan Holsen and was placed on the radiator of his 2020 Mustang GT 500. Veronica DeGuenther (who brought over her rare, perfect condition Citreon, "Dolly"), Veronica won the large nutcracker-style soldier.
------------------------------------
A few Thanks........
Thanks to Milt Roorda for getting up early and placing our meeting signs. Thanks to Alan Mevorah for operating the 50-50, and for loaning some tools when another member locked the trunk with the key inside. Good idea to toss the tool box into the car even if YOU won't need it! Thanks to Gen Rummy for creating the Souvenir Collectors Edition of the "CARolling" Christmas song book, for her singing, and her writing contributions to this meeting reminder.
Pictures from Photographer Isabella Bradley have been posted in our "Highly Informal Strictly Voluntary" newsletter, and Isabella has volunteered to create a Facebook Page for us. Her pictures are in posts 317-323 in the Keystone Newsletter: ( increased another thousand from November 16
to 17,000+ views ) click: https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/e...or-club-8.html
--------------
Thanks to all donations we collected $37 which brought a total $146 into the KMC treasury.
This is the public acknowledgement at post # 336 in the Keystone newsletter: Bob Vail is voluntarily holding the total amount of $146 for the club.
----------------

Should we be adding more advance notices to our meetings as a planning tool?
We won't be holding the New Years day Intercoastal tour on New Years Day. It's looking like we need to start planning earlier for 2022. Originally from Sunset Park, Tarpon Springs (A straight shot to the West from Odessa) and taking some back roads alongside the Intercoastal waterway to Madiera Beach, St Pete.
We will have printed directions for each participant but we still need a tour leader to step up
as KTM (Keystone Tour Master) for the day....driving at a legal speed and signing a few autographs

-----------------
Social distance with us, drive through and beep your horn, or back in, open your hood
and hang out for a while.

Coming Attractions: For January 16 2021,
KMC is getting enthused for the January 16, 2021 meeting where we are going to ring in the New year with a “Virtual Video Party!” Since January might be a bit chilly, the Women of Keystone are serving hot GI coffee, some Winn Dixie Cookies, and bags of popcorn to enjoy with the videos you get to take home. So far, we have 18 videos to exchange and any “rare” ones will have a silent auction, like Hot Rod Girl which stars Chuck Conner (The Rifleman) from 1959. How about the collector's edition of “Fast and Furious?” You must come to see all the ones that have been donated for our enjoyment. Some videos are real “doozies.” Everyone is invited to participate and have fun. We'll flag you in over the finish line! See you then.

Thanks for coming out. Might be a good idea to arrive at 930AM and get a good parking spot for the 10AM start on January 16 2021.

Default What we did on January 16 2021 at Keystone Motor Club

We started on January 16 2021 as people did an early roll in at 930AM

The Keystone Motor Club rang in the New Year, 2021, with a “Virtural Video Party.' A rough estimate was over 36 cars and 65 people in attendance. This record only topped our Christmas Party by a few more cars bringing their friends with them. The 50/50 winner received $36. We had a variety of door prizes including extra videos for the winners. Everyone who participated had a good time with GI Coffee, hot tea, cookies and popcorn.

We had several videos for the silent auction including Hot Rod Girl, T-Bird Gang, James Dean-live Fast Die Young, Riding in Cars With Boys, Starski and Hutch, Kart Racing, Nascar Racing, several collectible Fast and Furious editions, and bunches of others.

At 11AM, we began acknowledging a few people who make things work within Keystone Motor Club.
Alan Mevorah operates the 50/50. Before the meeting, Milt Roorda places signs every month for our meeting. Vic Piano performed entertainingly as Guest Master of Ceremonies (GMC even though he drove a Ford). Isabella Bradley is the club photographer and cares for Keystone Motor Club's Facebook page. Her photos appear on post #'s 317 thru 323 of this newsletter. Gen Rummy is in charge of every WOK/Women of Keystone project, plus edits and prints the club history, plus the pass-out notices for car shows, and I am greatful for the help.
---------------------------------------------------
Keystone currently needs someone as an Essential Sign-in Person (ESP) and we need
a flag person to wave in attendees as they roll in
.
---------------------------------------------------
KMC has an amnesty suggestion program, and people can send in a suggestion by email
anonomously if they don't want their name attached to it.
-------------------------
Rachel Amber Duffen was recognized as the person in charge of the Connerton Elementary
school Cars and Champions show coming up in Land O Lakes on February 13 2021.

------------------------------------
We are still collecting pictures of people and their car for the club history.
Want to have you and your car in the same picture? Email
Bob Vail...address and phone at page bottom. I would also like to do some interviews where you tell me about your car
and some car things that you have gone to or remember from past times.
-----------------
The Keystone Motor Club's Highly Informal Strictly Voluntary newsletter now has over 18,000+ views, a gain of 2,000 views from the December meeting. Remember when we had only 7,000 views a year ago?

https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/e...or-club-9.html
Our thanks to the person who went there and read it another 2,000 times! LOL
------------------------------
We drew tickets for door prizes that included $5 gift cards for Starbucks and more from Amazon, detailing supplies, wash mitts, $30 Yeti Cups, calendars,....and with every door prize we added in at least two randomly pulled video DVD's from the basket.

Thanks to all donations we collected $40 which brought a total $186 into the KMC treasury
as of January 16 2021. This is the public acknowledgement at post # 348 in the Keystone newsletter: Bob Vail is voluntarily holding the total amount of $186 for the club.

We had guaranteed $25 payout for the 50/50, and the winner got $36.
