Default 3sgte swap

i am wondering if it would be a good idea to get an n/a mr2 and do a 3sgte swap in it (with brakes)? if i had all the needed components except the trans would the 3sgte engine match up with the n/a trans? also, would the motor be a drop in replacement or need fab work such as motor mounts and would the n/a fuel pump be able to supply the 3sgte with enough fuel. any other coments would be apreciated.

with brakes????, the 5sfe will supposedly work but really not a good idea, wont last long, nothing really needs to be modified its a straight forward drop, you will definatly want a turbo fuel pump or a walpro

the turbo has a pair of upgraded twin piston calipers thet are better than the n/a's. the n/a are manageable but not preferable (or so ive read). thanks

well the 91-92s the rear brakes were the same n/a or turbo (i think)the fronts: the n/a are single piston and turbos are dual piston
try www.mr2board.com lots of good info.

https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/t...-swap-mr2.html you will need the chassis wiring harness, shift cables, rear hubs, tranny, axles, fuel pump, engine, exhaust and ecu from a turbo car. From there it's a matter of moving, bolting and plugging everything in.The turbo brakes are better but not necessary....although recommended.

i think you can use the tranny if you use a clutch disk from the 2.2 set.also...not recommended...the turbo trannies are generally wore out with milage and the 2.2 tranny is weaker still.

i'd try to find an lsd tranny...the reason is price...you should be able to find one for $600 or so but it's gonna cost around $400 + shipping for the lsd by itself(ebay)

around how much does a jdm 3sgte rear clip go for? it seems like the way to go instead of looking for all the needed components. i know at a toyota dealership the harnesses themselves can go for up to 2,000.00 (so ive read)
