Default mr2 build in progress

got some goods in the mail today. wiseco pistons 20 over and eagle rods mmmmmmmmm. never knew how sexy upgrades could be :drools:


ive got so much parts i could show you all. if this catches any intrest that is. this is gonna be a 4-500hp build im not fuckin around on this one. im going to save the major fuel upgrades for later as my main concern is getting this mr2 road worthy and looking mint as soon as possible.

i got my bills coming up at the end of the month. so after i get those squared away i'll be dropping off the block to the machine shop. im all excited. shes gonna look so perty

i still have a large shopping list before the motor is ready to go in the mr2.

im guestimating about 5-600 bucks at the machine shop
600 bucks to rebuild my turbo and get all exhaust components ceramic coated
1000 bucks for the hks 264 camshafts, ats camgears, and valve springs
and havent priced out the internal bearings i need for the complete rebuild but im guessing around 100 bucks for those.

will be doing the porting at home so i'll save some cash on that. once the motor is in and wired up i have source around a bunch of parts to make my own w2a ic and then comes the megasquirt ems. im going to learn to tune myself and learn all the ins and outs so i gotta lotta fun ahead of me

i dont know if you can notice but there is a small bit of roughness on the edges as well, some a tad bit jagged but not too serious.


heres some pics before i get it on the engine stand tomorro


As you can see my exhaust manifold is in pretty bad shape. Im going to get it cleaned up and have it ceramic coated inside and out to prevent the rust from coming back like this and on other parts as well.

running kind of dry on money lately but so far progress goes as follows:
the engine lid has been primered and prep for paint, the vents on the lid are going to be spray chromed. I think its going to look pretty badass.

the timing cover has been trimmed down to show off the ats cam gears i'll be getting soon and primered and being preped for spray chrome along with the fuel rail and valve cover which i forgot to take a picture of. if your not familiar with spray chrome here is the distributer my uncle gets his materials from. basically it allows you to chrome anything and everything. he also can do marbel effects which is pretty nifty.

I drove to daytona today to meet up with burnidizzles buddy who brought my rebuilt mr2 tranny down from pittsburg. So now i have most of the essientials and the list of things i need to do is getting shorter and shorter...

also...my alan bolt set came in for the valve cover, i was wondering why they charged so much for shipping untill i saw the box it came in. they even were nice enough to bubble wrap my bolts for me. mt buggies you are fucking retarded.



it took a can of oven cleaner and hours and hours of scrubbing with a wire brush but this bish is finally clean and ready for paint! im going dark grey btw on the paint. i didnt want to paint the block black with the car being black itself. plus if anything ever leaks it'll be easier for me to spot this way.

yes its on my to do list. its already off so miles well replace it while im at it. these are just some old posts from celicatech.

ive since bought all the oem gaskets i need. 230 dollars you beleive that shit? got the water pump, re using the oil pump since its a jdm motor with like 40k on it, just replacing the seals in it. porting the head and everything around it lol. going with hks 264 camshafts and ats camgears. with my precision t3/t4 60-1 im going to be gettin some pretty good ass numbers!

fuck yes it will be. i decided that im gonna put a bigger fuel pump on rather then the walboro 255. the aeromotive a1000 will ecomidate me a little better.

if i kept my stock fuel rail im going to top her out at maybe 330whp. thats absolute maximum hp i can get with that rail and my 550's. i didnt want to upgrade them just yet because im eager to get this on the road but i dont want my injectors working at 100% and lean out and blow up.
