The haldex (not to be confused with 4motion) uses electronic engagement. The car is inherently FWD and you'll never be able to get more than 50% of the torque in the rear wheels (which is why they wont disengage fronts). So, if you "pluck" the right fuses, you'll get a boring FWD car.

that car sounds awesome. they made it FWD for the dyno AWdynos are $$. I think a good estimate of AWHP would be a 5% decrease or so from driveline drag. I would not want to have to work on much with such a tight set-up, it looks cramped in that engine bay.

That was SUPER nice of VW !!!

Too bad the R32 is one of those cars that sold for $30k, and will be $28K ten years from now... Only like, what 2500 R32s brought to the US ?

Honestly, i don't really know the numbers. I'm really into the technology, but not the body style. I'd like to find a wrecked one that i can cut and paste into my mk2. Supposedly there's a newer R36 hitting these shores by the end of the year.

AWD platforms lose about 20% due to drivetrain loss.

yes, so I estimated that an extra 5% loss would be an est of the 20% loss it would have in AWD
