F1/Cart/Indy whatever cars generally idle around 9k rpm. I beleive they have three layers of valve springs, rather than the traditional single or dual. Also bear in mind the engines are only designed to last 3 or 4 hours at most. I can't remember how many times I've seen one blow. Honda once made a prototype engine with only 1.5L, yet 900hp. Turbos spooling up to 40psi are amazing.

I like the otehr vid on SF where the car is on a rack. They keep reving this thing where flames are popping and the Turbo Manifolds are bright as hell... no thats true goodness

f1 car don't have valve springs they have floating valve dampeners...
thats were the engine oil under presure pushes down on valves to keep them closed.
this is because they ca can spin up to about 30'000 rpm (that is the rpm cap that the fia says is to much) most rev over about 17-20,000 rpms ..... idy car and cart cars run triple springs sorry nerd moment
