you have to consider that the ZR1 is the top-notch of all vette's.

The GT-R (not a Skyline) will have a lighter VSpec version, and another one.....I think it was with a V8 TT, nut not sure.

let's compare again when they come out.

Great video with the ZR1! I don't like the interieur though......plastic ev'rywhurrr!

I've seen a acceleration test with a Lingenfelter Vette and several other cars.

The Lingenfelter blow up the turbos and everytime they braked to a stop, the brake rotors were bursting...... Baer brakes.

I agree, the two aren't really comparable as far as a format of car. The reasons these two are often compared heads-up has much to do with Nissan's engineers speculations about how the GTR's performance at the ring will best the ZR1's.
Basically trash talk. As of now, Nissan was served a big dish of STFU by the General. Where they do compare though is in performance.. Yes, they achieve it in different ways, but both cars offer supercar stats and real world drivability. They just go about it in two different ways.
I'd really like to see what the GTR turns with street tires, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the ZR1's times are with a professional race driver at the wheel. I figure the ZR1's time will be even much quicker than the GTR's if that were the case. At any rate, GM needed a good shot in the arm lately, so good for them.

Comparable or not, I think its cool to have a little drama going on. If anything, it's fun to see the competitiveness between the two unlikely competitors. This isn't the last of this though I'm sure.

Sweet video, I think the zr1 time will drop again in the future after Nissan runs the v-spec. I'd love to see how the GTR stacks up with the Z06...street tire for street tire.

Just to be clear. The GT-R ran it's 7:29 on stock UNSHAVED tires. Just to set the record straight. And the V-spec has already seen 7:25, not even trying.
The ZR1 is sick nonetheless. Too bad the interior doesn't match the rest.
