^ + infinity EDIT: the passenger wasn't mistreated, they were actually pretty gentle, unlike their actions with the driver.

Yep. They have every reason to assume the passenger is an accomplice. A driver that runs from the cops is shown to have both contempt for cops (dangerous) and disregard for the lives of others (dangerous). You better believe they will fucking ruin your day when they get the upper hand. Stupid ass kid.
