2010 camaro ss vs 2010 gt500

I thought this was pretty pathetic that even now the gt500 barely edges out a camaro ss. camaro 426hp vs gt500 540hp. the skinny: gt500 beats camaro by 1/10th of a second. 12.8 to 12.9 and check out the irs on the gt500 eww. the burnout is wheel hop galore!

its no wonder when they didnt compare 1/4mile times of the hennesy and the gt500. the hennesy did 1/4 in 12.1 sec.

That mustang is lame. Another $17000 for .1sec in the quarter?! Why pay that, when you can supercharge the camaro for less than half that and go faster? And yeah, that wheel hop on the 'stang was gross!

Hate to be a stereotypical Mustang 'nutswinger' or something... But I've read multiple reviews quoting the 1/4 mile time of the GT500 being ~12.2 or so, with a lot of wheelspin down the track... Have not seen the video posted yet, though since I'm at work.

id like to belive that if they had the same tire on both cars the stang wouldawon by at least .4 or .5 tenths. the stang spun hard off the line and once it hooked up it was gone. but the camero is a hellof a deal compared to the stang even tho the gt is pretty close in everythign but the straight line speed when it has 100 hp less than the camero

The mustang with the "track package" was close to everything except for straight line. The base gt vs the base ss wouldn't be as close. better suited for the v6 camaro vs the gt stang with only 10 hp separating the two

Both cars need to go on a diet as far as I'm concerned, but other than that I'd say the 5mph trap higher is what speaks louder than the .1 second faster. Different drivers would make that race completely different, but trap speeds are a bit more reliable.
