prospect is the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl on a toxic alien planet. She and her father hunt for precious materials, aiming to strike it rich. When the father is attacked by a roving bandit, the daughter must take control. Prospect premiered at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival Directed by: #ZeekEarl & #ChrisCaldwell .

This off world sci-fi short film testament to the fact that a good location, some creative script writing, a few props and a kick ass actress can go a long way in making what could be a film festival favorite.

Okay so the first thing I like about this short is definitely the location. It looks like it was shot on the forest moon of Endor. I was half expecting a little Ewok to pop up from behind the trees! Enough of Star Wars talk! Seriously though the location is perfect Each shot shows that thought had gone in to looking for the perfect frame for maximum effect, I have done filming in locations like this and it is surprisingly easy to get complacent. As the shoot goes on you have to fight the urge to just say ok we’ll just shoot it here because after a wile everything can start looking the same. But with shots like this one (below) You can see #ZeekEarl (Cinematography) really made best use of the location.

She had sense enough to stay hidden during the attack on her father. While it was reckless to seek revenge, I can understand her desire. By giving into her desire for revenge, however, she doomed both her father and herself to what every fate might befall them on that planet. I think this was a pretty good film about morals and maybe karma.
