Default pricing out a jetta...

hey guys, having an issue with jetta pricing.

I'm looking at a 2003 Jetta 1.8t. It's pretty much perfect, but the milage is a little high. It's in great shape, with 65k miles. They want 15100. KBB lists retail is 14,345, and 13,147 at edmunds.

whats the deal here? theres no warranty, do these really get that much higher of price tags?

Yeah, they are asking for too much. It's a 1.8t, so you will have issues with it as soon as you buy it.

Buy my car, R32, asking 25k, you won't regret it, I took it out for a quick spin this morning and remember how much I love driving it with the windows down so I can hear the exhaust note.

i would strech yourself to get his car
24v is soo much nicer of a car
it will hold its value WAY better than a regular 18t

and if u want to spend 15k on a 18t travel and get only a 337/20th so you dont just take it in the ass when u go to resell it

so back to the topic- this is too much for this car? vw jetta's (spec 1.8t) usually sell for around blue book?

It's way overpriced. And I wouldn't waste my time talking them down because you can find ones in your range with less mileage. As FalseHope pointed out, the 337/20th FTI or the 2004.5+ GLI is the only way to go if you get the 1.8T as they will be worth more during the resale process. The GLI will fetch a bit less than the 337/20th would, but still higher than a Jetta would, VR6 or 1.8T.
